During Phase 1 of the Yggdrasil initiative (the first two years of funding (2023-2024)) we aim to initially focus on producing the genomes of ca 30-50 eukaryotic species, chosen based on their level of interest and relevance to the Danish, Greenlandic and Faroese research communities.
Our long term hope is that additional funding can be acquired during this period to continue the facility, and in so doing, meet the reference genome needs of these academic communities as well as contribute to the Earth Biogenome Project.
